Although these may not necessarily be twitcher-accurate, they are inspired by the Chocolate Detective's favourite seabird: the Puffin. Brightly billed purring puffins have a cute, clown-like appearance. They pair up for life and raise just one precious Puffling a year. One of their secret haunts, Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel, takes its name from the Old Norse word for Puffin, and is an important breeding ground for these beautiful rare creatures.
